Director of Finance

The qualified candidate will have prior experience in overseeing the entire financial functions in a professional services or law firm environment.

Experience will include financial planning, cash management and bank relations, budgeting, client billing/collections, controllership, systems development/maintenance, processing of payroll, payables/receivables, will file local and federal tax reports, maintenance of general ledger and partnership accounts, financial reporting and internal audits. A Bachelors or Masters degree in accounting, finance, business or decision analysis and management science is required.

Controller

A San Francisco based international telecommunications wireless technology systems manufacturer (120 employees, 2005 revenues $30-$50 million) is looking for an experienced corporate controller to report to the CFO.

Job Summary: The Controller is responsible for directing and performing the company’s accounting, tax and financial control functions, which include establishing and maintaining the company’s accounting practices, procedures and principles in accordance with GAAP. The position requires the preparing and analyzing of financial reports, budgets and presenting findings and recommendations to the CFO. The Controller will perform a variety of tasks that include leading and directing the work of others.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee A/P, A/R, collections, revenue recognition, inventory and payroll
  • Prepare monthly financial closing statement preparation and analysis
  • Maintain and improve internal accounting systems to include create/revise related policies and procedures
  • Effectively track and resolve accounting and documentation problems and discrepancies
  • Manage tax filings
  • Advising on appropriate/preferable accounting procedures/standards for amortization, accruals and revenue recognition
  • Manage cash expenditures and flow
  • Assist VFO with preparation and compliance of operating budgets
  • Evaluation of stock options/equity
  • Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting or related field desired
  • CPA license preferred
  • 10+ years accounting experience
  • Experience in IPO Process
  • SEC reporting and SOX experience a plus
  • Experience with technology and/or a start up company a plus
  • Exceptional organizational, written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid knowledge of accounting processes, internal controls, GAAP and financial reporting requirements
