Our small audit teams of two to five people allow the staff to become involved in a variety of accounting issues and to interact directly with client personnel. We provide our staff with the opportunity to have primary responsibility for engagements early on in their careers. Our partner to staff ratio allows for direct interaction and progressive development of staff.
We provide our staff with a broad base of exposure to different industries and sizes of clients. Our people work with clients ranging from start-up companies to multimillion dollar businesses. For the benefit of our staff, we have chosen not to have our staff specialize in any particular industry early in their careers. After they have been exposed to our different clients and a particular interests and expertise develops, each staff will become a vital part of selected service teams.
Hood & Strong LLP provides employees opportunities to get to know each other outside the office and to give something back to the community. More than 90% of our employees are involved in some kind of volunteer effort. The firm sponsors regular group volunteer projects which are based on input from the staff members. Philanthropic activities include charity runs and walks, environmental clean-ups and helping the elderly. A few firm sponsored events include an annual holiday season party, an annual golf tournament and an after-busy-season party.
