Hood & Strong has one of the narrowest gender gaps in the industry
Hood & Strong LLP, a leading Bay Area accounting and business consulting firm, was recently named a 2016 Best Accounting Firm for Leadership Equity by the Accounting MOVE Project, an annual survey of leading financial and accounting firms to determine the state of women in the industry.
The Accounting MOVE Project evaluates firms on the range, depth, and success of programs and workplace culture proven to remove barriers to women’s success, especially at midlevel and above. The MOVE methodology pivots on four factors–money, opportunity, vital supports for work/life, and entrepreneurship–known to advance women in the workplace.
With women comprising half of its partners and principals, and 58% of its employees, Hood & Strong has one of the narrowest gender gaps in the industry. The firm’s business philosophy emphasizes its commitment to diversity, including a workplace culture that enables women to advance their careers in accounting.
“We are proud to have been named a best accounting firm for leadership equity for the third consecutive year,” said Robert Raffo, Hood & Strong managing partner. “We believe in providing meaningful opportunities for our employees to grow their careers, with the proper support and culture in place to support them in realizing their goals. This adds value to our firm and has helped us deliver excellent service to our clients for nearly a century.”
