Hood & Strong Named to Accounting MOVE Project Equity Leadership List for Fifth Consecutive Year

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (July 10, 2018) — Hood & Strong LLP, a leading Bay Area accounting and business consulting firm, has been named a 2018 Best Accounting Firm for Leadership Equity by the Accounting MOVE Project, an annual survey of leading financial and accounting firms to determine the state of gender equity in the industry.

The results of this year’s Accounting MOVE Project survey found that women comprise 25 percent of the management committees at participating firms—and while this is an increase from the 19 percent reported in the 2014 report, progress is incremental overall. In contrast to these numbers, women comprise 70 percent of the leadership team at Hood & Strong, and 60 percent of employees.

“We are proud to be recognized for our commitment to diversity,” said Susan Malone, Hood & Strong managing partner. “We’ve always believed that numbers tell a story. Our numbers demonstrate our commitment to inclusion and providing opportunities for all our employees to advance in their careers.”

The Accounting MOVE Project has measured the advancement of women at accounting and consulting firms since 2010. Results are based on surveys and interviews with 45 firms that consist of 31,533 employees with the survey collecting data on four key areas: fair pay practices, advancement and leadership development, work-life programs that remove barriers, and operating experience for business ownership.
