Hood & Strong LLP, a leading Bay Area accounting and business consulting firm, is proud to announce that Jenna Chupurdy was honored last night as an Emerging Leader at the YWCA Silicon Valley’s Tribute to Women Awards. This annual event honors up to 50 women executive leaders and emerging leaders from Silicon Valley’s tech and business sectors.
Chupurdy was honored as an Emerging Leader for her contributions that improve both company culture and business efficiencies. She is adept at identifying areas of opportunity in the workplace and working with all levels to develop solutions. Clients have come to depend on her for her support from the initial start of a client engagement through to completion. In addition, she collaborates with colleagues to organize events that encourage comradery among Hood & Strong’s approximately 100-person staff.
Chupurdy’s drive to improve the experience and surroundings of those around her extends beyond the workplace. Every week, she volunteers at the San Francisco SPCA as a “matchmaker” between animals and potential adopters, helping animals find their forever homes. Chupurdy has completed several trainings that provide a wide-range of benefits for the cat population at the SPCA, including the socialization of under-socialized and fearful kittens, behavioral science of cat body language, and their happiness project which includes how to use auditory, visual, gustatory and olfactory enrichment techniques.
“We are so delighted to have Jenna as a member of our team,” said Susan Malone, Hood & Strong managing partner. “The partners and I would like to congratulate Jenna for being honored as an Emerging Leader. As Jenna progresses as a leader in both her career and in the community, the sky is the limit.”
Hood & Strong has been named a Best Accounting Firm for Leadership Equity by the Accounting MOVE Project for five consecutive years. Women and minorities comprise more than half of the partner group and more than 60 percent of the total employee base. Equal growth opportunities, a client-centric culture and a strong belief in giving back to local communities continue to be distinguished hallmarks of Hood & Strong.
