H&S Tax Partner George Paulsen Named Chair of CalCPA's Estate Planning State Committee

Firm News

Hood & Strong LLP, an independent California-based advisory, tax, and assurance firm, is pleased to announce that George Paulsen, CPA, has been named Chair of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CalCPA) Estate Planning State Committee.

Paulsen, who previously served as the committee's Vice Chair, will lead its efforts to keep California CPAs informed on developments in trust, estate, and gift tax law. He will guide the development of educational programs and technical resources for CalCPA members and represent the profession's perspective on legislative and regulatory matters affecting estate planning, trusts, and wealth management.

"I'm honored to step into this important role at a time when business owners and high-net-worth individuals are navigating an increasingly complex web of tax and compliance regulations," said Paulsen. "Estate and wealth transfer planning has never demanded more technical rigor or more vigilance. More wealth will be transferred by the baby boomer generation than ever before. The state committee plays a vital part in ensuring California CPAs have the knowledge and resources to guide their clients confidently through this evolving landscape."

A Hood & Strong Tax partner since 1998, Paulsen brings more than four decades of tax planning experience to the role, with a practice focused on estate and tax planning for privately held businesses, real estate investors, and high-net-worth individuals. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and a past president of the Belmont Rotary Club and the Belmont Chamber of Commerce. A certified Personal Financial Specialist (PFS), Paulsen holds a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Southern California and an MBA from the University of San Francisco.
